Mary C. McKay, RN

Mae (Bergeron) McKay, 80, passed away unexpectedly on June
26, 2019 at Holyoke Medical Center with her daughters by her side.  Mae
was born in Holyoke on May 1, 1939; the youngest child of the late Arthur and
Loretta (Gaumond) Bergeron. She was predeceased by her brother Arthur Bergeron
and sister Claire Geyer.  Mae was married to the love of her life, Danny,
on November 26, 1960, who predeceased her unexpectedly on February 15, 1986.
Mae is survived by her three daughter, Karen Nolan and her husband Danny of
Monson; Susan McKay of Sylva, North Carolina; Christine Williams and her
husband Dan of Goshen; her adoring grandchildren; Megan, David, Joey, and
Brendan Nolan; Timmy, Danny, and Lauren Williams; her many nieces, nephews,
cousins, and friends.  Mae was a graduate of Providence Hospital School of
Nursing, class of 1960. She proudly started her career as an RN at Providence
Hospital where she worked for ten years. She then worked at Holyoke Hospital
for thirty years, retiring in 1999. Mae was a fighter; a breast cancer survivor
for twenty-one years. Mae lived every day of her life and taught others by her
example. Mae was the most loving, positive, energetic, talented, and fiercely
independent person.  Mae had many passions; gardening, sewing and making
clothes, wallpapering, sponge painting, stenciling, and decorating her home.
Her greatest passion was her family, especially her grandchildren who called
her Mém.
Her family felt the same way about her.  Mae has left her indelible mark
on each and every one of us and will continue to live on in all of us and in
all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.  Visiting hours will be
