Lydia Maria Gonzalez “Lily” of Holyoke died on Sept. 14, 2020 at the age of 76. She was born in Guayama P.R. daughter of the late Narisco Gonzalez and Carmen Vazquez. Lydia had 6 children, Predeceased son Nicanor “nick” Tosado Jr., She will be deeply missed by, Wanda Tosado, Melissa Tosado, Javier Tosado, Maritza Westbrooks and her husband Michael Westbrooks all from Holyoke and Carlos Tosado from Orange, MA. She had 9 Grandchildren, Jonathan, Keila, Tanesia, Jenna, Gregory, Nicolas, Julius, Kiara and Giovanni. 2 Great Grandchildren, Carter and Clyde. And one precious baby on the way. As big and loved as her family was, Lydia also fostered many children.
Lydia cherished her family. She loved to cook any chance she could. Especially every Wednesday night when her family would gather for dinner. If you asked her children they would say “she was the BEST Cook ever.” One of Lydia's favorite things to do was garden. She had the greenest of thumbs. All you had to do was pass by her home and see her garden blossom with Love.
Lydia a faithful member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church since 1980. She was involved in Cursillo Movement, Charismatic Renewal and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Lydia was a strong believer in God and a devoted Catholic. There is no doubt that she is in heaven right now just dancing, singing and praising the Lord with her son by her side. Lydia was very loved and will be missed by her family, Friends and Church Community.
The Family invites you to join them on Friday, September 18, 2020 from 4-7pm at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St, Holyoke. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2020 beginning at 8:45AM at the funeral home followed by a Liturgy of Christian burial at 10AM Immaculate Conception Church 54 N. Summer St., Holyoke. Burial will be in the St. Jerome Cemetery, Northampton St. Holyoke. Masks and Social Distancing are required at the funeral home and the church.
