DORIS (DUBE) ARSENAULT
1924 – 2018
HOLYOKE- Doris (Dube) Arsenault, 93, of Holyoke passed away Thursday July 12, 2018 with her loving family at her side. She was the daughter of the late Eugene and Nathalie Dube, born in Gorham New Hampshire and raised in Jay, Maine. She loved to reminisce about her days of hard work and fun on her father’s farm as the second of eight children. Doris married Raymond Arsenault and began her family in Rumford, Maine. She moved to Holyoke in 1958 where she raised her three daughters. In 1991 she retired from Graham Manufacturing after 33 years and moved to Northfield, MA. There she volunteered at the local senior center for several years before truly retiring. She returned to Holyoke to be near her family finally moving to Mount Saint Vincent Care Center in 2014 where she was devout, happy, loved and cared for by amazing people. Doris made friends everywhere she went and was the life of the party. She loved vacationing on the coast of Maine, lobster, strawberries, playing cards, making puzzles and playing Bingo.
Most of all Doris loved her family. Besides her parents she is predeceased by her brothers Robert Dube, Maurice Dube, her sisters Irene Therrien and Aline Dionne and her grandson Philip Tynan. She is survived by her three loving daughters (her “angels”): Jeannine Nelson of Spotswood NJ, Judith Petit of Wales, and Carolee Arsenault and her husband Michael McMyne of Longmeadow; six grandchildren: Richard Nelson, Tracy Berns-Petit, Christopher Nelson, Carolee Delaney, Margaret Mislak and Andrew Petit; nineteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Normand Dube of Jay, Maine, Oscar Dube of Manchester NH, a sister Patricia Szafranowicz of Holyoke and several loving nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Monday, July 16, 2018 at 8:30AM from Messier’s and followed by the Mass at 9:30AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, Northampton Street, Holyoke. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 1PM - 4PM at Messier Funeral Home 1944 Northampton Street, Holyoke. The Rite of Committal and Burial will be Monday afternoon at 2:30PM in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Main St., Northfield, MA.
