HOLYOKE- Carl Francis Nartowicz, 87, passed away into restful sleep and peace on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the Holyoke Soldiers Home. He was born in Hatfield on April 18, 1930 a son of the late Bernard and Helen (Zukowski) Nartowicz and was educated in local schools. He was a proud U.S. Air Force veteran having served during the Korean War. Carl worked for Philip Hano Co, Inc. in Holyoke as an office assistant and retired after completing 37 years of service with the company. He enjoyed shopping, reading and traveling to Canada, Vermont and Lake George.  Carl was a longtime communicant of Mater Dolorosa Church and now Our Lady of The Cross Parish. He is survived by his beloved wife of over 39 years, Josephine (Moskal) Nartowicz ; his sister, Teresa Couto; his brother in law, Max Moskal; his sister in law, Adele Beaton as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 4-7PM at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke. Carl’s funeral will begin on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 8:45AM from Messier’s and be followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10AM in Our Lady of the Cross Church. The Rite of Committal and Burial will be in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery, South Hadley.
