WESTFIELD- Aida Luz Fernandez-Pagan, 74, of Westfield, passed away at Vibra Healthcare in Rochdale. She was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on July 20, 1944, a daughter of the late Gregorio Fernandez and Carmen Pagan. She was educated in Puerto Rico and later moved to Massachusetts. Aida was devoted to her church and family and took pride in her six children. She enjoyed cooking, mainly Puerto Rican dishes. She was also part of a ministry that spent countless hours visiting those in jails and hospitals. She will be missed dearly by her children, Jorge Oyola and his wife Wanda of FL; Ricardo Oyola and his wife Francia of FL; David Gomez and his wife Yvette of Westfield; Nancy Oyola and her partner Pedro of Holyoke; Eileen Barnes and her husband Anthony of Longmeadow, and Yvette Martinez-Gomez and her husband Victor of Springfield. She also leaves several adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as a brother, two sisters, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Aida's greatest legacy will always be teaching her children, grandchildren and anyone who will listen, that Jesus is The Savior , The Way, The Truth and The Life and the only way to the Father. We will always hear her voice exclaiming, so passionately, "Busquen de Dios, que El Senor viene pronto." Thank you Lord that through your cross we will see Aida again. Visiting hours will take place on Saturday, March 2, 2019 from 3-6PM at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton Street, Holyoke, MA with a funeral home service at 5:30PM.
