YVETTE G. POWTAK 1917 � 2010 HOLYOKE � Yvette G. Powtak, 93, formerly of Tokeneke Rd. and a longtime Holyoke resident passed away on Monday, August 30, 2010. Yvette was born in Magog, Quebec, Canada on April 13, 1917 the daughter of the late Dennis and Hermina (Martin) Gazaille. Yvette settled in Holyoke as a young girl, was educated here and worked for many years locally as a hairstylist and waitress. She worked for the D�Empress, Kelly�s Lobster House and the Hadleigh House. Yvette was predeceased by her loving husband Joseph Powtak, in April of 1998. Yvette is survived by her niece, Carol Goble of South Hadley; a nephew, Dennis Gazaille of Chicopee and her sister in law, Doris Gazaille of Holyoke. A funeral home ceremony will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 9:30 AM in the Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke, MA 01040. The Burial and Rite of Committal will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley, MA. Visitation will be held on Thursday morning from 9:00 AM � 9:30 AM.
