Yvette Marie Bernard

HOLYOKE – Yvette M. (Lesperance) Bernard, 84, a Holyoke resident since 1955 passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2011. Yvette was born in Springfield on August 11, 1927 the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Louise (LaRose) Lesperance. She was educated in Springfield and was a graduate of Cathedral High School. Yvette was a longtime music instructor at the Conservatory of Music where she taught piano. She was an active member of the Tuesday Morning Music Club and excelled in her area of expertise. Yvette was predeceased by her husband of over 54 years, Raymond J. Bernard in 2009. She leaves behind many talented musicians, music aficionados but most especially her five children. She leaves her son, Damian Bernard of Naperville, IL; her four daughters, Denise Foster of Pleasanton, CA; Theresa Bernard of Modesto, CA; Cecile Bernard of Holyoke and Barbara Bernard of Holyoke; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild and her extended family and friends. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2011 from 1-4 PM at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke, MA 01040. Her funeral will begin on Monday, December 12, 2011 at 8:45 AM from the funeral home and followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton St., Holyoke, MA 01040. The Burial and Rite of Committal will be in St. Jerome Cemetery, 1666 Northampton St., Holyoke.
