Yvette Laprade

HOLYOKE - Yvette (Fortin) Laprade, 78, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2013. She was born in Salem, MA the daughter of Adrien Fortin and Angelina Marquis Fortin. Yvette moved to Southampton, MA in 1959. She leaves a sister, Cecile Fortin Pitcock; four brothers Robert Fortin, Philip Fortin, Roland Fortin and Raymond Fortin. Yvette was very active in the former Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish and School. She was a member of the youth choir and a Cub Scout den mother for several years. She worked as a seamstress at Beaven Kelly Rest Home and was an Associate of the Sisters of Providence. She leaves her beloved family: husband Edmond P. Laprade of Southampton, MA, son Phillip E. Laprade and his wife Christine Laprade of Southampton, MA, son Daniel G. Laprade and his wife Mary Lou Laprade of Granby, MA, and daughter Michelle Laprade Collins and her husband Matthew Collins of Hastings on Hudson, NY. She leaves her beautiful grandchildren Sarah and Rachel Laprade of Southampton, MA; Jeffrey, Nathan and Marissa Laprade of Granby, MA; and Jacqueline and Michaela Collins of Hastings on Hudson, NY as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Yvette was also predeceased by a brother, Richard Fortin. Visiting hours are Friday, May 3, 2013 from 4-7PM at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke, MA. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 11:30AM at Blessed Sacrament Church, Northampton St., Holyoke, MA. The Rite of Committal and Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley.
