Vincent M. Motyl
1923-2010
HOLYOKE – Vincent Michael Motyl, 86, formerly of Tokeneke Road, Holyoke entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 10, 2010 in the VA Medical Center, Leeds. Born in Easthampton and a long time Holyoke resident, he was the son of the late William and Agnes (Killian) Motyl. Vincent was a retired machinist for the former American Bosch Co. He was also a union business agent at the company and was a member of the American Bosch Travel Club. Vincent was an Army veteran of World War II serving his country with pride and distinction. He was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church in Holyoke. Vincent was predeceased by his wife Blanche J. (Kowalski) Motyl in 1981, by his son David M. Motyl in 1996 and siblings Teddy and Tony Motyl and Rose Zielinski. He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, June E. Zera of Jacksonville, NC, five grandchildren, Brian Zera, Christine Matthews, Tamara Lawrence, Laura Soderbaum, Jackie Motyl and six great grandchildren, Madysen, Kassidy, Gabriellia, Gunnar, Gavyn and Lilly. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 14, 2010 from the Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke at 9 a.m., followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial in Blessed Sacrament Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Easthampton. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the Messier Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the VA Medical Center, 421 N. Main Street, Leeds, MA 01053-9764.
