Vidalina Davila
1936-2015
HOLYOKE- Vidalina “Vida” Davila, 79, died on May 25, 2015 at Baystate Medical Center. She was born on April 23, 1936 to the late Rafael Bermudez and Vicenta Rivera in Puerto Rico. Vida was a longtime resident of Holyoke. She was a seamstress for many years, her most recent work at Totsy Manufacturing making doll clothing. Vida was a devoted Catholic and Parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Holyoke, and loved to sing religious songs and hymns. She is predeceased by her son, Luis Serrano and her daughter Vilma Serrano-Vazquez. Vida is survived by her husband Andres Davila; eight children, Oscar, Wilfredo, Maricelli, and Annabel Serrano, Iraida Serrano-Rivera, Victor and Jennifer Davila, and Vilmarie Villanueva-Davila; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. Visiting hours will be Thursday, May 27th from 5-8PM in Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St, Holyoke. The funeral will be Friday, May 29th beginning at 8:45AM at the funeral home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian burial at 10AM in Our Lady of Guadalupe, Maple St, Holyoke and burial in St. Jerome Cemetery.
