HOLYOKE- Therese A. (Crochiere) Fredette, 89, a lifelong “Holyoker” passed away to the sweet sounds of beautiful music which she loved so much. She was born in Holyoke on December 4, 1927, the daughter of the late William and Rosaria (Labonte) Crochiere and educated in Holyoke Schools. She was a longtime employee of the Sisters of Providence working primarily in outpatient registration at the former Providence Hospital and later at Mercy Medical Center. She retired in 2004 after dedicating over 20 years of compassionate care to the community. Therese was predeceased by her husband Leonard P. Fredette in 1995 and a son Robert Kennedy. She was a faithful woman of great strength and always made time for others in need, no matter the circumstance. She enjoyed reading in the sun, listening to music while humming along as she always loved, flowers and watching musicals. Therese is survived by her two sons, William Fredette of Minnesota; Douglas Fredette of Chicopee; two daughters, Joy Henchey and her husband Daniel of Holyoke and Vickie Phillips of Springfield. She will be missed by her 12 grandchildren: Catherine Kennedy, Shannon Kennedy, Kelly Kennedy, Clair Kennedy, Jennifer Rowell, Andrew Fredette, Christopher Fredette, Nicole Kelliher, William Fredette, Jr, Nathaniel Fredette, Jeremy Fredette and Kelly Henchey. Therese also leaves 19 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren and many extended family members and dear friends and caregivers at Loomis House. Therese had a love of animals and she will be missed sorely by “Bonkers” her faithful dog. Life celebration hours will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2017 from 1-4PM at Messsier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke. Her funeral will begin at 8:45am on Monday, January 9, 2017 from Messier’s and be followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10AM in Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Maple St., Holyoke.
