Therese Lauraine (Benjamin) Duprey, 97, beloved wife of Robert Anthony Duprey who predeceased her in 1998, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 6, 2023, at her residence in Chicopee with her loving family at her side.
Therese was born on November 7, 1925, in New Bedford, MA, a daughter of Fred and Clara (Desrocher) Benjamin.
She was raised and educated in St. Bridget, Canada.
Therese was a longtime resident of Holyoke and parishioner of St. Jerome Church and was a member of its Ladies Guild.
Her guiding principles in life were faith, hope and charity.
She leaves behind her loving children, Paul Duprey and his wife Cynthia of Chicopee, Denise Sullivan and her husband, Lawrence of Chicopee, Gary R. Duprey and Denise Gagnier of Holyoke, Robert R. Duprey and his wife Carol of Enfield, Alan Duprey and his wife, Jennie of Agawam, and Brian Duprey and his wife, Janell of Belchertown, 14 cherished grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her brothers, Gerard, Andre, Normand, Joseph, and Fred Benjamin, and sisters, Fleurette Abair, and Jane Conlon.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, November 9, for a period of visitation from 9 – 10 AM at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Jerome Church, 169 Hampden St., Holyoke. Committal prayers and burial will follow immediately after the Mass at Notre Dame Cemetery in South Hadley.
