Theresa A. Desforges

Theresa A. (Mailhot) Desforges, beloved wife of Lionel E. Desforges, Sr. who predeceased her in 2009, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at Regal Care in Holyoke at the age of 86.
Theresa was born on October 26, 1937, in Bristol, CT, a daughter of Adrien and Blanche (Houle) Mailhot, and was raised and educated in Bristol, CT.
She was a hairdresser for over 40 years, she owned and operated her own salon on High Street in Holyoke, before closing her shop and later working at several local nursing homes as a Hairdresser.
Theresa was a former parishioner of St. Anne’s Church in Chicopee and a current parishioner at St. Patrick’s Church in South Hadley.
She leaves behind her loving son Lionel E. Desforges, Jr. and his wife Wendy of Chicopee, cherished grandchildren, Jason (Ashley), Nick, Cassie (Jeremy), Stacy (Eric), Kristel (Adam), and Christina, 11 great grandchildren; son-in-law, Keith Mailhott and several nieces and nephews, including her special nephew, Joe Fontaine.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her beloved daughter, Diane Mailhott in 2021, brother, Fernan Mailhot and sisters, Rita Fontaine and Evette.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, October 22, from 5 – 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m.at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke.
Committal prayers and burial will be held Wednesday, Oct. 23, at 11 a.m.at Precious Blood Cemetery in South Hadley.
