Thaddeus “Ted” J. Sawicki, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at the family home in Granby, MA, at the age of 66.
Ted was born on August 19, 1955, in Holyoke, MA, a son of Jan and Stefania (Moczydlowski) Sawicki.
He was raised and educated in Holyoke and was a graduate of Holyoke Catholic High School.
Ted was employed as a mechanic, for over 40 years, at Smith & Wesson in Springfield a place where he was affectionately known by his colleagues, as CNC Ted.
He was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in South Hadley.
Ted obtained a unique sense of humor and was known as a fair-weather fisherman and hunter.
He will be missed at the Salmon River Camp in Pulaski, NY, a place where he almost learned how to fly fish and now the fish can breathe more easily.
Ted will also be missed dearly by his family, close friends, and good neighbors.
He leaves behind his loving mother, Stefania of Granby, brothers, Richard of Granby and Mark and his wife, Betty of Chicopee, nephews, Sean and his fiancée, Erica of Belchertown, Michael and his wife, Hillary of Granby, Kyle and his fiancée, Kyla of Chicopee, and by his great niece, Penelope.
Ted was predeceased by his father, Jan.
Family and friends are invited to meet on Saturday, August 13, for Ted’s Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Cross Church, Holy Cross Ave., Holyoke, MA 01040.
Committal prayers and burial will follow immediately after the Mass at Mater Dolorosa Cemetery, 152 Pitroff Ave., South Hadley, MA. There are no calling hours.
