Stuart F. Meaden

HOLYOKE- Stuart F. Meaden, 86, a resident of Chicopee passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Wingate at Hampden. He was born in Dorchester, England on Sept. 18, 1927 a son of the late Frederick Mansfield and Winafred Seymour. Stuart served in the British Royal Army and the Merchant Navy before coming to the United States. He began his long working career with American Painting & Wallpapering in W. Springfield. Stuart was also the manager of Cherry Hill Apartments in Holyoke for over 20 years and later enjoyed being a courtesy driver for several years at Midas of Hadley. He is survived by his daughter, Sharron Meaden of Holyoke; his four sons, Raymond Meaden and his wife Elizabeth of Chicopee; Clive Meaden and his wife Patricia of Carver, MA; Ian Meaden and his wife Tracy of Chicopee; Andrew Meaden and his wife Naomi of Leesburg, VA; two sisters, Eileen Mesheau and her husband William of Ludlow; Judy Williams and her husband Glen of Holyoke. Stuart will also be missed by his seven grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 from 1-4PM in Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke, MA 01040 with a funeral ceremony at 3:30PM.
