Stephen Lester Dean

Stephen Lester Dean, 78, of Granby, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday May 23, 2025, at Regal Care in Holyoke. Stephen was born in Westfield on April 17, 1947, a son of Forrest E. Sr. and Elsa E. (Tiber) Dean, he was raised and educated in Holyoke and was a 1964 graduate from Holyoke High School. He was employed by the City of Holyoke as a Pipe Fitter in the Holyoke Water Works Department. Stephen was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting, and a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Granby. In addition to his parents, Forrest, Sr. and Elsa, he was predeceased by his brother, Forrest E. Dean, Jr., and niece, Heather. Stephen leaves his siblings, Russell E. Dean of Snowflake, AZ, Alden L. Dean and his wife Chris of Chicopee, Valerie Duval and her husband, Raymond and Mark A. Dean and his wife Shirley of Holyoke; nine nieces and nephews, Shannon, Tracie, Ryan, Mellissa, Wendy, Bryan, Timothy, Thomas and Jeffery, numerous grandnieces and nephews and by his cousins, Lynn Little of Florida and Joyce Remillard of Arizona. Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, May 29, for calling hours for Stephen, from 4-6 PM at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke. His funeral service and burial will be private.
