1915-2012

HOLYOKE- Ruth E. (Bombard) Redfern, 96 of Holyoke passed away Thursday morning at Heritage Hall Nursing Home. She was born in Holyoke July 31, 1915, daughter of the late Milton Bombard and Idella (Thorpe) Bombard. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Redfern. Ruth was a dedicated Secretary at Worthington Pump Corp. for 15 years, retiring in 1957. She was a member of Grace United Church. Ruth is survived by her son Louis R. Redfern and his wife Muriel (Cote) of Chicopee; her three granddaughters; Charlene (Redfern) Hopkins; Louise (Redfern) Kidder; Lynne (Redfern) Godbout; her eight great grandchildren; Christopher D’Angelo; Jonathan Rymasz; Melissa Rymasz; Lance Hopkins; David Przybyla; Eric Przybyla; Daniel Godbout and Derrick Godbout. She will also be sadly missed by numerous extended family members and friends. Ruth leaves an impression in hearts and minds of all who knew her to never be forgotten. She is predeceased by her two brothers; Walter and Carl Bombard and her sister; Lillian Bombard. Memorial contributions may be made in Ruth’s memory to Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104,Transportation Fund. Visiting hours for Ruth will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 from 9-11 AM with an 11 AM funeral home service at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke, MA 01040. The Burial and Rite of Committal will follow in the Forestdale Cemetery, Cabot St., Holyoke.
