Robert L. Fournier

Robert “Bob” Lester Fournier, 83, formerly of Holyoke, MA and the Berkshire’s, passed away Thursday February 9, 2023 at the Christopher House in Worcester. He was born on March 10, 1939 in Holyoke to Joseph N. and Jeannette (Houde) Fournier. Robert was a graduate of Holyoke High School and later attended UMass Amherst completing courses in Horticulture. Bob was employed by General Electric for over 30 years as an Inventory Control Specialist. Upon leaving GE, Bob went back to school to pursue his passion in gardening and subsequently worked in a local Nursery before his retirement. Robert was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing and most of all his gardening. He is survived by his children, Tammy Brunelle and her husband, Marc of Sterling, MA and son Robert Fournier of Pittsfield; brother, Richard Fournier; sisters, Janet Plasse and Debbie Levy; two grandchildren, Gregory Fournier and Kevin Brunelle and by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his two brothers, Ronald and David Fournier; and grandson, Ryan Brunelle. A period of visitation will be held on Tuesday February 14, 2023 from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at the Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton St., Holyoke. Burial will be held in St Rose De Lima Cemetery, Chicopee.
