HOLYOKE – Rita C. (Dupuis) Lequin, 94, died Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Mount Saint Vincent Nursing Home. She was born in Holyoke on September 12, 1915 to the late Henri and Marie (Benoit) Dupuis. Rita attended schools in Holyoke and was a former parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. She worked at the former Holy Family League of Charities in Holyoke. Rita was predeceased by her husband Ernest Lequin in 1986. She leaves to cherish her memory her three sons, Raymond Bachand of Phillipston, MA, Vincent Bachand of Granby, MA and Kenneth Bachand, Sr. of Holyoke; her two stepsons, Fr. Thomas Lequin of Maine and John Lequin of Belchertown; her stepdaughter, Barbara Roy of Monson and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. There will be a Liturgy of Christian Burial on Tuesday, August 3, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Holyoke. Burial will follow the Liturgy in South Cemetery in Belchertown. A calling hour will precede the Liturgy from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St. Holyoke. Memorial contributions, may be made in Rita’s memory, to St. Jude’s Tribute Program, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN, 38148-0142.
