Richard E. Paradis

Richard E. Paradis 1936 � 2010 HOLYOKE � Richard E. Paradis, 74, died Friday, September 10, 2010 at the Holyoke Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Chicopee on January 28, 1936 to the late Fernando �Pat� and Yvonne (Laflamme) Paradis. Richard was co-owner of his family business, Pat�s Supermarket, in Holyoke. He was a longtime parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church in Holyoke. Richard was predeceased by his loving wife, Berniece (Marion) Paradis on December 15, 1990 after thirty-two years of marriage. He leaves to cherish his memory, his two sons, Richard D. Paradis and his wife Lyne of Southampton and Steven L. Paradis of Holyoke; his two daughters, Linda M. Cicerchia and her husband David and Laurie Y. Jacques and her husband Real, both of Holyoke; his brother, Raymond Paradis of Agawam; his sister, Anita Chartier of Holyoke; his thirteen grandchildren, Jennifer, Nicholaus, Nathan, Stephanie, Eric, Adam, Anthony, Timothy, Karlee, Austin, Nicole, Emily and Rebecca and his two great grandchildren, Aubrey and Evan. He will also be sadly missed by several nieces, nephews and many extended family members. Beside his parents and his wife, Richard was also predeceased by his brother, Eddie Paradis. A funeral procession will form on Wednesday, September 15 at 8:45 a.m. at the Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St, Holyoke. There will be a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church in Holyoke. Burial will follow the Liturgy in Notre Dame Cemetery in South Hadley. Calling hours will be Tuesday, September 14 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
