Richard Beaton

Southampton- Richard Beaton, 82, a longtime Southampton resident passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Highview in Leeds. He was born in Holyoke on October 16, 1933 a son of the late Andrew and Martha (Lipczak) Beaton and educated in Holyoke Schools. Richard was a U.S. Army veteran having served honorably in the Korean War. He was a machinist for most of his life and worked at Remington Rand, Texon and retired from Tubed Products in Easthampton. He was a member of the American Legion Post #351 and enjoyed traveling to Cape Cod. He is survived by his love of 58 years, Adele (Moskal) Beaton of Holyoke; his son, Rick Beaton and his wife Linda of Chicopee; two daughters, Catherine Beaton and Rosemarie Beaton both of Southampton; a sister in law, Kathleen Beaton of Milford, MA and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves behind his adored granddaughter, Alicia Beaton of Chicopee who will keep him forever in her prayers. Richard was also predeceased by a brother, Andrew Beaton. Calling hours are private at Messier Funeral Home but friends are invited to Richard�s Liturgy of Christian Burial on Tuesday, March 15, 2015 at 9AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton St., Holyoke, MA 01040. The Rite of Committal and Burial with military honors will follow at 11AM in the chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam, MA 01001.
