Priscilla J. Evans Myers, 84, passed away peacefully at her daughter Amber’s home in Agawam where she was residing, on Friday November 22, 2024, with her loving family at her side.
Priscilla was born on July 11, 1940, in Florence, MA, a daughter of Walter G. Evans, Sr. an Inez Wells Bisbee and was raised and educated in Williamsburg and Northampton schools. She resided in Williamsburg, Northampton and Holyoke before moving to Agawam with daughter Amber.
Priscilla was a Mental Health Secretary for over 31 years at the VA Hospital in Leeds, MA and was a Foster Parent for many years, working with the Department of Youth Services Program in Northampton. She was also involved in the Fresh Air Fund that blessed inner city kids from New York City to stay with host families and enjoyed summer vacations in the Northampton area.
Priscilla loved the Veterans’ that she helped through work and also loved spending time with her family and doting over her grandchildren.
She had many fond memories of trips to York, ME, and long trips up and down the Mohawk Trail. She was a devout catholic and member of the former Mater Dolorosa Parish and Our Lady of the Cross Parish.
Her everyday presence will be missed dearly by her family and friends and those who had the opportunity to know her.
She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Walter G Evans Jr.
She leaves a sister, Patricia Armes of Northampton; her children, Dawn Howard and partner Marc Thompson, Kristy Cutting and husband Mark, Thomas Ford and wife Windy and Amber Myers and partner Jason Cyr; grandchildren, Alexander Wanczyk, Tiffany Cutting Madru, Chelsey Cutting Wold, Krystal Willard, Anthony Ford, Dakota Ford, Aquan Myers and Kelsey Myers;10 great grandchildren, former husband, James Myers and by her beloved dog and best friend, Chewy. The family wishes to send a special thank you to Dr. Henry Simkin for all of his help and friendship over the years.
Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, December 4, for calling hours for Priscilla from 4 – 6:30 p.m. at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke, followed by a service at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Her burial will be private for family and close friends in Village Hill Cemetery in Williamsburg.
