Paul H. Dionisi1950-2016Paul H. Dionisi, 65, had family by his side as he passed away on June 17, 2016 after battling cancer. He was born in Springfield, MA on October 24, 1950, son of the late Claudio and Madelina (Basile) Dionisi. He was educated in Springfield and graduated from the High School of Commerce in 1970. He worked in the manufacturing industry for many years at Zero Corporation, Milton Bradley and Smith & Wesson. Paul was a longtime communicant of Holy Name Church in Springfield and loved cooking, watching sports, talking politics and making his daily stop at Donut Dip in East Longmeadow. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Elaine (Howe) Dionisi of Springfield; his children, Gena Yelinek of Springfield; Vanessa Henry and her husband Rick of Southwick; his two sisters, Virginia Oldenberg and her husband Jeffrey of Belchertown; and Donna Maloney and her husband Neil of Hyannis. His 4 grandchildren, William Henry, Jessica Henry-Cross and her husband Jeffrey Cross, and Austin and Sadie Yelinek will miss their "Papa Paul". Paul also leaves many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss his friendly smile as well as his "puppy" Honey who will miss their neighborhood walks. His life celebration services will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 from 4 - 7 pm at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton Street, Holyoke, MA 01040. Paul's funeral will begin on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 8:45 am from Messier's and be followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 am in Holy Name Church, 323 Dickinson Street, Springfield, MA 01108.
