Normand V. Champagne

On Monday, July 13, 2026, Normand V. Champagne, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away. Born in Lewiston, ME October 4, 1944, he was a resident of Southwick, MA at the time of his death.

Normand proudly served in the United States Army and Army Reserves from 1965 through 1981, dedicating 16 years of service.

Before retiring in 2016, Normand worked many years as a truck driver for several transportation companies. After retirement he enjoyed working at the Big E for many years.

Normand also enjoyed being a member of the ChicopeeAssumption Drum & Bugle Corps. for years.

He was also a huge fan of all New England sports teams. His love for bowling, golfing, camping, skiing and card playing with family and friends was special to him.

A fun-loving attitude and great sense of humor was one of his great traits. He had an infectious laugh and a huge heart. Family and friends were very important to him.

Normand leaves behind his loving wife of 49 years, Margaret (Cieszynski) and their daughter Wendy and grandson Alexanderof Ware, MA. He is also survived by his brother Ralph Champagne and his wife Nancy, of Springfield; sister Pauline Champagne of Chicopee; brother, Peter Cogswell and wife, Lillie, of Hawaii, brother in-law, Roger Heroux of South Hadley, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Therese Heroux of South Hadley.

A private burial service will be held by the family at a later date.
