Norbert C. Mandeville

SOUTH HADLEY- Norbert C. “Bert” Mandeville, 89 of South Hadley passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2016. He was born in the Fairview section of Chicopee, on August 24, 1927 to the late Norbert and Evelyn (Campagna) Mandeville. Bert attended Chicopee High School and then enlisted in the United States Navy. Bert served in the South Pacific during WWII attached to the 56th See Bees and upon return to the states he was employed at Holyoke Radio & TV for 32 years and James River Graphics in South Hadley for 15 years. Bert enjoyed fishing, working in his vegetable garden and woodworking. In addition to his parents Norbert was predeceased by his beloved wife Bernice D. “Bunny” (Joniec) Mandeville, just short of 50 years of marriage in March 2000 and his sister Phyllis A. (Mandeville) Nowak. Norbert leaves his children, Cheryll A. and (Chuck) Schampier of Albany, NY, Lynne A. and (Billy) Gino of Holyoke, Kevin J. and (Nicole) Mandeville of Chicopee and Kimberly A. Mandeville and (Frank Carey IV) of Ware, as well as his grandchildren, Jennifer A. Eslick of Albany NY, Kelly A. and (Aaron) Denny of Raleigh NC, Andrew M. Lynch of Holyoke and Kevin C. Mandeville of Wellfleet, MA and his great-grandson Noah Eslick of Albany, NY. Bert is survived by a brother Arthur Mandeville and his wife Dorothy, of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina and a brother-in-law, John M. Joniec of East Longmeadow, as well as, many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the staff at Wingate at West Springfield for all the love, joy and care given to “Bert” and especially to his favorite nurse Wendy Baird. The funeral services and burial are private. There are no callings hours. Services are entrusted to Messier Funeral Home, Holyoke, MA.
