1981 – 2012
HOLYOKE- Michael David Zukowski, 31, died suddenly and unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, July 26, 2012. Michael was born in Holyoke on February 24, 1981 a son of the late Stephen C. Zukowski (2008) and Sheila (Rohan) Zukowski of Holyoke. He was educated in Holyoke and was a 1999 graduate of Holyoke High School. An avid hockey player, Michael played hockey with Tri-City Hockey League, Holyoke High School, and intramural hockey at UVM. He studied at Holyoke Community College before transferring to The University of Vermont where he received his B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Economics in 2005. He was an avid and loyal Bruins fan, loved to play hockey and roller hockey as an adult. Michael will be missed deeply by his mother, Sheila and his brother Stephen J. Zukowski of Holyoke. He will be remembered by his aunts and uncles: William and Carol Rohan of Holyoke; Sara and James Haas of Easthampton; Wanda Czelusniak of CT; Mitchell and Karla Zukowski of South Hadley and Ann O’Connor of NH. Michael leaves his cousins; Jessica and Courtney Rohan, Alex and Evan Haas, Krista Carey; David Czelusniak, Allison Bradshaw, Sarah Zukowski and Adam Zukowski and Vanessa O’Connor. He also leaves many extended family members and dear friends especially: Donald and Barbara Whelihan; Lauren Whelihan; Mary-Laura and Thomas Hohol and Nora and Gerald Moreau. Michael has made the journey home to his father Stephen as well as his uncle James Rohan who welcome him with open arms. Visiting hours for Michael will be held on Monday July 30, 2012 from 4-7 PM at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke, MA 01040 with a funeral home service at 6:30 PM.
