Mary L Clement-Allen

SOUTH HADLEY- Mary Clement-Allen, 75, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at her home after a 10 year challenge of living with ALS. She was born in Holyoke on September 17, 1939 a daughter of the late Hector and Mary (Kruglis) and was raised and educated in Holyoke. She was a proud graduate of Holyoke High School and attended Holyoke Community College and the University of Massachusetts. After school Mary achieved many of life�s goals, one of which was being a pioneer as the first female outside sales representatives for a major metal distributor, Admiral Metals of Woburn, MA. Her upbringing, education and marriage to her husband of over 36 years, W. Bradford Allen prepared her for the challenges in the business world and led to her ultimate success and achievements. She was a member of the Holyoke League of Arts, The Western Mass Purchasing Organization and the MA & CT Chapters of Women in Metals Organization. She also served on the South Hadley Traffic Sign Committee and was a former communicant of St. Jerome and Blessed Sacrament Parish. She was an avid world traveler with her husband Brad and most especially enjoyed trans-Atlantic cruises and winter trips to the Alps. She also worked in metal finishing at Industrial Chromium Corp and Fountain Plating Co. She finished her career of over 50 years in the metal industry at Sullivan Steel and Scrap Co, Holyoke in 2006. Mary was able to spend many good days with her family and dearest friends because of the great care and concern of the following people: the very special Sandra Godin, formerly with Baystate Neurology, Dr. Gerald Green for his time and research allowing Mary a better quality of life for many years; her loving team of caregivers from Home Health Solutions and Baystate VNA & Hospice. Mary wishes those she leaves behind to take comfort knowing she gained life knowledge with her illness and wants to be remembered for her kindness and sense of humor. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Brad of South Hadley; her sister, Marge Paul and her husband Edward of Chicopee; her nieces, Sharon Corliss (Ron) of Chicopee; Amy Blattner (David) of Shrewsbury; her nephews, Brian Paul of Chicopee; Andrew Simino (Catherine) of Franklin; her in laws, Betty and Darrell Simino of Westborough; her dear friends, Joyce and Hank Becker of Agawam; Felicia Jedrykowski of Feeding Hills and several grandnieces and grandnephews. Mary is now welcomed home by her beloved parents, her brother Richard C. Clement and her creator who gave her many gifts to share. She will be missed by the Killington, VT �Snowball� Ladies and many others who she touched in the kindest of ways. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 from 10-12Noon at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke, MA 01040 and conclude with a service at noon in the funeral home. Her inurnment will be private at the Massachusetts Veterans� Memorial Cemetery, Agawam.
