LINDA A. LEBLANC
1942 – 2011
HOLYOKE- Linda A. LeBlanc, 68, passed away suddenly on Friday, May 27, 2011 at Holyoke Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Linda was born in Holyoke on August 28, 1942 a daughter of the late William and Helen (Obuchowski) Jackimek. She was raised in educated in Holyoke and has been a lifelong resident here where she worked for over 30 years for the Holyoke School Department and retired as Head Cook at Dean Vocational High School. Prior to that she worked the Highland and Metcalf Elementary Schools where she provided many meals to the communities children. Linda was an avid Red Sox Fan and loved to play cards especially Cincinattti 7 and Texas Hold’Em with her family and friends. Linda married Edward P. LeBlanc in November of 1964 and the couple recently celebrated 47 years in marriage. In addition to her beloved husband, Linda is survived by her son, Jason LeBlanc and his wife Kimberly of Holyoke; her three adored grandchildren, Sydney, Emily and Cara LeBlanc who will miss her dearly. Linda is also survived by her 5 sisters, Susan Evans of Holyoke; Judy Provost of Holyoke; Lana Hough of Florida; Debbie Jackimek of Turners Falls; Nancy McGuilicuddy of Westfield as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Linda was predeceased by a brother, Jackie Jackimek and two sisters, Carol “Cookie” Carter and Pat Jackimek. Visiting hours for Linda will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 from 4-7 PM at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke, MA 01040. The funeral ceremony will begin on Wednesday at 8:45 AM from Messier’s and be followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in Mater Dolorosa Church, 71 Maple St., Holyoke. The Rite of Committal will be held at 11AM in the chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam. Please visit
