1935-2019
Holyoke- Lester Edward Forrette, 84, of Holyoke passed away at Baystate Medical Center on Friday, August 16, 2019. He was born in Ellenburg, New York on August 14, 1935 a son of the late Noah and Flora (Bertrand) Forett. Lester served proudly in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a longtime skilled truck driver for concrete companies in the area. Previously he worked as a teamster in Northfield helping to build the power plant. After retirement he worked part time as a parts driver for Hapco Auto Parts in Holyoke. Lester was predeceased by his wife Margaret (Jackson) Forrette in 2012. He will be missed by his children, Dale Forrette of Holyoke; Lester Forrette Jr of NY; Ronald Forrette of Holyoke; Phyllis Morales of Worcester; his grandchildren, Heather Rodriguez; Pricilla Rodriguez; Ashley Forrette, Ronald Forrette II, and Kassie Forrette. Lester leaves a sister and brother, Theresa Theriault and Maynard Forrett. He was predeceased by eight of his siblings, Leward Forrett, Shirley Vegas, Raymond Forrett, Bernard Forrett, Francis Forrett, Leo Forrett, Viola Dutcher and Lois Forrett. Visiting hours will be on Monday August 26, 2019 from 11AM – 12:30PM at the Messier Funeral Home with a funeral home service at 12:30PM. The burial with military honor will follow at 2PM in the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam, MA 01001.
