Leona Desrosier

June 30, 1913 — March 24, 2013

HOLYOKE � Leona (Piquette) Chamberlain Desrosiers, 99, entered into eternal peace and rest on Sunday March 24, 2013 at Holyoke Geriatric. Leona was born in Hartford, CT on June 30, 1913 a daughter of the late Arthur and Emma (Rouillard) Piquette and she attended schools in CT and MA. She was a longtime employee of Dorothy Dodds in Holyoke where she worked in the credit department retiring in 1975. Leona was predeceased by her husbands Rene Chamberlain in 1973 and Raymond Desrosiers in 1997. She enjoyed a full and rewarding life and had been active until a few days ago when she became ill. Leona loved cooking, game shows, crime investigation shows, taking cruises, and reflecting over a glass of red wine. She is survived by her son, Ken Chamberlain of Holyoke; her daughter, Eleanor Hall of Virgina Beach, VA; two step sons, Robert Desrosiers of Chicopee; Donald Desrosiers of Florida; two step daughters. Constance Bouffard of PA and Diane Kelly of CT. Leona is also survived by her numerous grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. The family is especially grateful to a special granddaughter and caregiver, Patty for all time she spent with �Memere�. Leona was also predeceased by a grandson, Michael; three sons, George, Norman and Rene Chamberlain; a step son David Desrosiers and her brothers, Edward, Conrad and Ernest Piquette. Visiting hours will be held Saturday, March 30, 2013 from 8:30AM � 10AM at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke, MA 01040 and followed by a funeral home service at 10AM. The burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley.
