Leda Allen

Leda Allen 1918 � 2009 Granby- Mrs. Leda (Glenny) Allen, 91, a fifty nine year Granby resident, formerly of Holyoke, died at the Center for Extended Care at Amherst on Thursday, December 10, 2009. She was born in Chicopee on September 14, 1918, a daughter of the late George and Annie (Mercier) Glenny. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Holyoke High School. She was a well known landscape artist and also taught art at the Granby Senior Center. She was retired from the U.S. Government where she was an executive secretary for many years. She was the wife of the late Edward Allen who died in 1982. She is survived by her brother, William Glenny of Granby, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother, Leo Glenny. The funeral procession will form at 9am on Friday, December 18 at the Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St. (Route 5) Holyoke, followed by a Service of Remembrance at 10am. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery in South Hadley. Calling hours at the funeral home are on Thursday, December 17 from 4 - 7pm.
