Kenneth D. Ryer, 89, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, May 3, 2021. He was a son of the late Robert and Eugenia (Meyer) Ryer. Kenneth Proudly served his country in the US Air Force. He worked at Pratt and Whitney for a short time before retiring from Barnes National Guard. He was a Specialist in the Electronics Department working with Heads up Displays. In his spare time, he enjoyed taking care of his yard, gardening, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed by his children, Ann Bouthiette and her husband Michael of Holyoke, Scott Ryer and his wife Jeanne of Angers, North Carolina, and Jeffrey Ryer of South Hadley; a sister, Grace Hooton, and several dear friends. He was predeceased by nine siblings. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 10, 2021 10-11am at the Messier Funeral Home, 1994 Northampton St., Holyoke, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:30am at the Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton St., Holyoke. Burial with Military Honors will be held at 1:00pm in the chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306.
