July 10, 1960 — October 16, 2013

HOLYOKE- Kenneth Frank Janovsky 53, born in Grafton, MA passed away suddenly Wednesday October 16th, leaving behind the love of his life and best friend Sheila Lafleur. Kenny also leaves behind his cherished children Amelia Janovsky of Westfield, Tanya Janovsky and her fiancé David Lundquist of Webster, KJ Janovsky and his wife Kim of Westfield, Jenny Andraca and her husband Erick of West Springfield and Brandon Lafleur and his wife Crystal of Texas. His grandchildren Jonathan, Emily, Jarrod, Kyle, Jacob, and Jesse, will miss spending time exploring and learning about nature from their Papa. Kenny will be dearly missed by his mother Patricia Janovsky of Grafton, his brother Kevin Janovsky and his wife Donna of Whitinsville, his sister Patty Picard and her husband Michael of Grafton, and his sister Pamela Gemme and her husband Rene of Sutton, as well as several nieces and nephews who adored him. Kenny was predeceased by his father James J. Janovsky “Grandpa J”. Kenny also leaves behind his father and mother-in law Jack and Estelle Reardon of West Springfield, brother-in-law Michael Reardon of Vermont, and sister-in-law Brenda Reardon of Hadley. Kenny’s four-legged friends Dakota, Mckenley, Gracie, Mama, Misty, Hope, and Panda will miss his love and affection. Kenny graduated from Grafton High School in 1978. He served the Charlton community as a volunteer fireman and first responder for several years. He was working at Prolamina in Westfield for the past six years. Kenny was a wonderful husband, loving father, grandfather and the best friend you could ever have. Kenny would drop everything to help someone, yet he never expected anything in return. He took pride in coaching the Greater Springfield Special Olympics’ teams and he was overjoyed with every accomplishment of the athletes. He was an avid fisherman, wood worker and had a lifelong appreciation of bird watching. He loved NASCAR and was a pit crew member for several years. Ken’s legacy will also continue on in others through the gift of tissue donation. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, October 21, 2013 from 5-8PM at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke, MA 01040. His funeral will begin on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 9:45AM from the funeral home and be followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, Holyoke. The Rite of Committal and Burial will be in St. Jerome Cemetery.
