Karolyn Valentine

HOLYOKE- Karolyn “Lynn” (Sugrue) Valentine, 69, a longtime Holyoke resident passed away on Friday, July 26, 2013 at Calvin Coolidge Rehabilitation Center in Northampton. She was born in Holyoke on January 9, 1944 a daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Scott) Sugrue and was a Holyoke High School graduate. She then studied at Holyoke Community College and began a career in the insurance industry. Retiring as an office manager. She was predeceased by her husband Holyoke Police Lt. Harold “Val” Valentine in February of 1999. She enjoyed music and spending time with family. Lynn is survived by her beloved son, Dr. Barry Valentine and his wife Sandra of Leesburg, VA; two sisters, Dorothy Martin of ; Margie Zokowski; her nephews, Mike Martin; Jack Martin of; Jeff Martin of; Craig Martin; several extended family members and dear friends. The funeral services will be private under the guidance of Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke, MA 01040. The burial will be in St. Jerome Cemetery, Holyoke.
