Jose R. Cruz

Jose R. Cruz, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at the age of 54.
Jose was born on July 30, 1967, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, a son of Juan Rivera-Torres and Maria Catalina Luciano Rivera, he was a longtime resident of Holyoke and most recently Chicopee.
Juan was currently employed as a Landscaper and worked at James River Graphics for many years. He was also a jack of all trades, master of none. There was no job too big nor too small he wouldn’t turn down.
He is survived by his son, Jose R. Cruz, Jr., and granddaughter, Ayanna Cruz, siblings, Sergio Cruz and his wife Sonia, Carmen Cruz, Marisol Cruz, Isaiah Cruz (Captain Holyoke Police Dept.), Maritza Cruz, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.
A period of visitation will be held for Juan on Thursday, July 7, 2022, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke, followed by a service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
