HOLYOKE- Jeanne L. (Gelinas) Parrow, 77, a lifelong Holyoke resident, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 21, 2010 in Holyoke Medical Center. Jeanne was born in Holyoke on June 7, 1932, a daughter of the late Arthur and Marie Jeanne (Castonguay) Gelinas. She graduated from Holyoke High School in 1951. Jeanne was employed as a clerk for the former Springfield Armory, and was also employed as a home health aid for Holyoke VNA. She enjoyed gardening and reading and was an active member of the Holyoke Senior Center. Jeanne was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church and the former Perpetual Help Church, both in Holyoke. Besides her
parents, she was predeceased by her 1st husband, Edward O’Keefe; her 2nd husband, Daniel Parrow; and a sister, Mary Wiedenroth. Jeanne is survived by her two children, Jean Marie Gallagher and her husband John of Virginia Beach, VA, and Bruce E. O’Keefe and his wife Robin of Weatherford, TX; and five cherished grandchildren, Robert and Amber Gallagher, and Susan, Shannon, and Molly O’Keefe. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 27th at 9 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton St., with Rites of Committal and burial to follow in St. Jerome Cemetery, Northampton St., both in Holyoke. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jeanne’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
