Jean Mary Wenzel

Holyoke – Jean Mary (Murphy) Wenzel, 84, of Holyoke, passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 12th, 2022, at The Atrium in Agawam. She was born February 2, 1938, to the late William and Margaret V. (Curtin) Murphy of Holyoke and a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, class of 1955. Jean worked at the Hadley Falls Trust Co. and later many years in the Holyoke School lunch program.
She leaves her children, Anthony Zaharias and Christopher and his wife Keri-Ann Wenzel. She also leaves six grandchildren, David, Jennifer and Jesse Zaharias, and Timothy, Linsey and Nathan Wenzel; two great granddaughters, Lorelie and Ainsley Wenzel; her brother, Richard, and his wife Irene Murphy and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Godfrey Wenzel and daughter, Lisa Zaharias.
Family and friends are invited to meet for a period of visitation on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, from 9:00 – 11:00 am at the Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St. in Holyoke followed by a service at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Jerome Cemetery in Holyoke.
