James Edward Fleming

Holyoke – James Edward Fleming, 80, of Holyoke, passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 23, 2023, at Charlene Manor in Greenfield. Born in Holyoke to John and Erna (Schluckwerder) Fleming, he was raised and educated in Westfield, before residing in Holyoke. James was a longtime employee of the Avery Dennison Paper Company. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 38 years, Gale E. (Bush) Fleming in 2011 and by his cousin, Diana Blanchard in 2018. He enjoyed music, especially Sarah the Fiddler and the Dan Kane Singers. James is survived by his brother, Donald Fleming of Vallejo, CA; cousins, Laureen Molin of Vernon, CT and Douglas Blanchard of Southampton, MA, his niece, Jennifer Watt (David) of Alameda, CA, and dear friends, Fransisco Rivera and John Henchey. A funeral service will be held for James on Tuesday, September 5, at 3:00 PM at the Heath Union Church, 5 East Main St., Heath, MA 01346.
