James D. Angers , 74 of Holyoke passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on July 26, 2026. James was born in Holyoke, MA on Sep 3, 1951, son of Roland & Elsie (Hill) Angers. He was a graduate of Holyoke High School.

James worked for 41 years at National Blank Book, which later became Avery Dennison. He retired in 2014.

James is survived by his wife Deborah (Mason) Angers, whom he married in 1973. They enjoyed 53 years of marriage.

James loved doing things with his family. He loved yearly vacations at Hampton Beach, NH, going to outdoor concerts and watching New England sports, especially the Boston Red Sox.

Besides his wife, James is survived by his daughter Jennifer and husband Richard Czepiel of Holyoke, his daughter Amy Oskirko of Lancaster, MA and by his son Michael Angers of West Springfield.

James is also survived by his 5 grandchildren whom he adored, Matthew and Jason Czepiel, Jetta and Olivia Oskirko and Lily Angers.

James is survived by his brother John Angers of Holyoke and his wife Faye and was predeceased by his siblings, Joan Champagne, Donna Kapinos and Robert Angers. He also leaves several nieces and nephews along with his brother in law and wife Raymond and Karen Mason.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday, August 4th from 4-7pm at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton Street, Holyoke, MA.

Burial will be private for the family at a later date.

Memorial donations can be made in James' memory to the Dakin Humane Society.
