Helen M. Werenski

1934-2026

Holyoke – Helen Marie (Van Eekelen) Werenski, 91, passed away peacefully at home on Monday January 19, 2026. Helen was born June 12, 1934, daughter of Evert and Helena (Geiss) Van Eekelen.

After graduating from High School in New Jersey, Helen attended Seton Hall University.

Helen was employed with the Holyoke City Clerk’s Office for many years and most recently, she worked as a Teacher's Aide in the Holyoke Public School System. Helen was an avid reader, very sociable and always enjoyed her cup of coffee.

She was predeceased by her husband, Casimir W. Werenski on January 12, 2000, and by all her siblings.

She is survived by her son, Thomas Werenski of Holyoke, her daughter, Susan Foran and her husband Robert of Holyoke; her four grandchildren, Jenna, Colin, Olivia and Carl; two great-grandchildren, Kaden and Finn and several nieces and nephews.

Burial will be private for the family in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery, in South Hadley.
