HOLYOKE – Helen B. (Mazurowski) Kennedy, 89, died Saturday, December 6, 2008 at the Holyoke Geriatric Nursing Home. She was born in Holyoke on January 7, 1919 to the late Anthony and Bertha (Perlowski) Mazurowski. Helen attended schools in Holyoke and was a lifelong Holyoke resident. She worked for the former American Thread in Holyoke and was a former parishioner of Mater Dolorosa Church. Helen was predeceased by her loving husband, Harold Kennedy, after thirty-seven years of marriage. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Joan Kennedy of Chicopee; her two brothers, Walter Mazurowski of Granby, Ma and Chester Mazurowski of Chicopee; her six grandchildren, Rob, Amy and Jon Moreau and Todd, Jamie and Jeff Ouellette and her great grandson Liam R. Ouellette. Besides her parents and her husband, Helen was also predeceased by her daughter Kathleen (Kennedy) Ouellette; her four brothers, Joseph, Stephen, John and Edward “Bud” Mazurowski; her three sisters, Tess Gaughan, Mary Walton and Betty Bergeron and her grandson Ryan Ouellette. A funeral procession will form on Tuesday, December 9 at 8:45 a.m. at the Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St, Holyoke. There will be a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Mater Dolorosa Church in Holyoke. Burial will follow the Liturgy in St. Jerome Cemetery in Holyoke. Calling hours will be Monday, December 8 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Helen’s memory, to the Alzheimer’s Association, 264 Cottage St, Springfield, MA, 01104.
