Helen M. Chotain

Helen M. Chotain 1936-2008 Helen Marie (Flaherty) Chotain, 71, of Chicopee, passed away on Sunday October 12, 2008 in Mercy Medical Center. Born in Holyoke and a Holyoke resident for most of her life, she was the daughter of the late Timothy and Helen (Fitzgerald) Flaherty. Helen was a retired hairdresser having worked for various beauty salons in the Holyoke area. Following her hairdressing career she was a home companion for Western Mass Elder Care. She leaves two sons, Ronald C. Chotain and his wife, Nicole of Ludlow; Vance T. Chotain of Northampton; a brother, William J. Flaherty of Leesburg, VA; two sisters, Marylyn Cammilleri of Enfield, CT; Kathleen Higgins of Chicopee; her grandchildren; Toby Gagne; Jason Gagne; Meghan Chotain; Justin Chotain; Austin Chotain and Marcel Chotain, her great grandchildren; Chrisanna Gagne; Christopher Drummond, Jr.; Jason Gagne, II; Courtney Gagne; Billy Drummond; Daryl Gagne; and Alphone Fiorillo; several nieces and nephews and her grand dogs, Molli and Jerico. Helen was predeceased by a daughter Marion Gagne; a granddaughter Tina Gagne and by her brother Charles R. Flaherty. Funeral services will be held at the Messier Funeral Home 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 7 p.m. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. prior to the service.
