WESTFIELD – Harriet A. (Sekscienski) Roy, 89, died on Saturday, May 31 in a local nursing home. She was born in Easthampton, MA on October 17, 1918, a daughter of the late Stanley and Leonora (Najda) Sekscienski. She attended local schools and was the co-owner of the former Bath Shoppe in Holyoke. Harriet was known for her volunteer work with several elder organizations. She was the wife of the late Raymond W. Roy, who died in 1996. She is survived by three sons, Daniel and his wife Irma of East Longmeadow, William and his wife Christine of West Springfield, and Russell and his wife Linda, also of West Springfield. She also leaves two sisters, Jean Pepper of Arlington, MA, and Claire Lamontagne of Port Richey, Fl. She will be sadly missed by three grandsons, Brian, Steven, and Gregory and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Edward Sekscienski, Henry Sekscienski, and Stanley Sek. Relatives and friends are invited to meet at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church Parish Center, 127 Holyoke Road, in Westfield, on Friday, June 6 for a 10am Liturgy of Christian Burial. Burial will follow the Mass in Notre Dame Cemetery, Lyman St. in South Hadley. There are no calling hours. The Messier Funeral home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
