Holyoke – Glen R. “Zingo” Williams, 61, died on Sunday, December 6 at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton after a brief illness. He was born in Holyoke on October 12, 1948, the son of the late Robert and Ida (Miller) Williams. He attended local schools and was a graduate of Holyoke High School and proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. He was previously employed at the former Johnson Metal Company. He is survived by his son, Travis Dean of Easthampton, two sisters, Christine Losa of Enfield, CT, and Wendy Foley of New York. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and many close friends. The funeral procession will form on Friday, December 11 at 9am at the Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St. (Route 5) Holyoke with a Service of Remembrance at 10am. Burial will follow in Forestdale Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday, December 10 from 4 – 7pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Glen’s name may be directed to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250 - 0301.
