Frederick Mateo1981-2015SPRINGFIELD- Frederick �Fred� Mateo, 34, passed away suddenly in Springfield on June 2, 2015. He was born on January 20, 1981, a son of Jose Mateo and Ivette Rodriguez. Fred graduated from Amherst High School. He worked at multiple local Friendly�s Restaurant locations as a manager. He enjoyed cooking and inventing his own food recipes. Fred had a gift of communicating with others, and loved talking and socializing with his many friends. He also used his words in writing journals and loved reading books. Fred was an avid Yankees fan and also enjoyed watching basketball, especially when Michael Jordan played. Fred will be missed by his mother Ivette Richardson and her husband Harold; three children, Damian Mateo and his mother Elaina Richter, and Jordan and Leila Mateo and their mother Sarah Akin. He is also survived by his two brothers, Joseph and Chris Mateo; a sister, Natalie Mateo; his Aunt Eda Roman; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends. Services for Fred will be private.
