Esther Marie Courchesne

ESTHER M. COURCHESNE 1925 � 2017 CHICOPEE- Esther Marie (Dill) Courchesne, 91, passed away at Kindred Nursing Home in Agawam. She was born in Groveport, Ohio on December 20, 1925 a daughter of the late Ephraim and Helen (Dibble) Dill and was educated in Ohio Schools. She was predeceased by her husband Henry P. Courchesne in 1959 and by her brother and two sisters; Frank Dill, Ruth Eisele and Florence Handley. Her greatest accomplishment was devoting her life to raising five children on her own after her husband�s death. The courage and strength it took to bring up her children ages one to eleven was unsurpassed and we are forever grateful. She leaves behind her children, Gloria �Jane� Charland and her husband Ernest of Chicopee, Mary Slapksi and her husband Bill of Chicopee; Paul Courchesne and his wife Cathy of Chicopee; Jacqueline Courchesne of Hatfield and Theresa Poremba of Monson; her sister, Mary Eggart of Ohio. She will live on in the lives of her 9 grandchildren,13 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Life Celebration hours for Esther will be held on Monday, February 20, 2017 from 4-7PM at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke, MA 01040. Her funeral will begin at 8:45Am from Messiers and be followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, Holyoke. The Rite of Committal and Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley. If friends desire, memorial donations in Esther�s name can be made to a charity of one�s choice.
