Esther H. Burdick

Esther Langevin Burdick 1913 � 2009 SOUTH HADLEY � Esther H. (Becher) Langevin Burdick, 95, died Monday, March 16, 2009 at Wingate of East Longmeadow. Esther was born in South Hadley on June 1, 1913 to the late Kraig and Hedwig (Wirkelmann) Becher. She attended schools in South Hadley and graduated form South Hadley High School. She was a lifelong member of the First Lutheran Church in Holyoke. She worked at Johnson�s Book Store in the card department for a number of years. Esther spent most of her life proudly raising her family in Chicopee. Esther was predeceased by her first husband, Roy E. Langevin and her second husband Clarence A. Burdick. She leaves to cherish her memory her three sons, John Langevin and his wife Judy of East Longmeadow, Kraig Langevin and his wife Nancy of Gastonia, N.C. and David Langevin and his wife Carol of Chicopee; her daughter Janice R. Bouchard of Aldenville; her three step-sons, Charles Burdick and his wife Beth of Silver Springs, MD, Philip Burdick and his wife Jan of Springfield and Kenneth Burdick of Chicopee; her step-daughter, Carol Boardman and her husband Richard of Philadelphia, PA; her twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Esther was also predeceased by her two sisters, Eleanor Burdick and Dorothy Young and her brother John Becher. A Service of Remembrance will be conducted on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St, Holyoke, MA. A calling hour will precede the service from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, may be made in Esther�s memory, to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St, Springfield, MA, 01104.
