Elizabeth P. Michon

Elizabeth P. Michon1933 � 2015Holyoke � Elizabeth (Lawlor) Michon, 82, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Wingate at Hampden. She was born in Belfast, Ireland on February 27, 1933 daughter of the late Patrick and Elizabeth (Hillis) Lawlor of Ireland. Elizabeth immigrated to the United States in 1956 arriving in Springfield, MA where she worked as a nanny. She also worked for many years as a CNA, and was gifted with a compassionate heart and enjoyed caring for others. She enjoyed music, reading, gardening, and her grandchildren. She is survived by her beloved and devoted husband of over 55 years Edward Michon of Holyoke. She is predeceased by her beloved stepmother, Gretta Lawlor. She also leaves her two sons, Michael and David Michon, her two daughters Judy Michon, Ann Miro, her brother Padraig Lawlor and her sister Winifred Sproule. She will be missed by her grandchildren; Christine, Joseph, Michael, Liana, Jacqueline, Sean, Kevan, Christopher, Ashlynn, Kelsey and three great grandchildren; Shawn, Angelo and Madalynn. A visiting hour will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 from 10:45 � 11:45 AM in Messier Funeral Home, Holyoke. A committal service will follow at 1 PM in the chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Agawam. Gathering following the service at Elmwood Towers Community Room, 485 South St. Holyoke, MA. 2:00 � 6:00 PM. Parking for guests is to the right of the building. In lieu of flowers, donations in Elizabeth's name can be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Assoc., 264 Cottage St., Springfield, MA 01104.
