Elizabeth J. Doherty1941-2015CHICOPEE- Elizabeth J. (Blanchard) Doherty, 74, passed away in Chicopee on August 4, 2015. Elizabeth was born on April 17, 1941 in Holyoke, a daughter of the late William and Stella (Gauthier) Blanchard. She graduated from Holyoke High School and worked as a Home Health Aide with Holyoke VNA for many years. Elizabeth married Joseph Doherty in 1957 and spent many loving years together until his passing in 2003. She is also predeceased by a sister, Violet Rocham; three son-in-laws, Bernard Rock, Dennis Egnor, and Jose Ramos; and a brother-in-law, Charlie Brown. Elizabeth is survived by her six daughters, Pauline Rock, Doreen King and her husband Harold, Christine Egnor, Laurie Deausault and her husband Louis, Karen Ramos, and Jennifer Boutin and her husband Daniel; numerous grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, as well as great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her three brothers, Robert Blanchard and his wife Theresa, Richard Blanchard and his wife Phillis, and Ralph Blanchard and his wife Nancy; one sister, Claire Brown; one brother-in-law, Gregory Rocham; and several nieces and nephews. Services for Elizabeth will be held on Friday, August 7, 2015 beginning with calling hours from 9:30AM-10:30AM in the Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St, Holyoke, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:30AM in Our Lady of Guadalupe, Maple St, Holyoke. Burial will be in St. Jerome Cemetery, St. Thomas Section in Holyoke.
