Eleanor M. Hyde HOLYOKE- Eleanor M. Hyde, 88, died peacefully Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Iowa Masonic Health Facilities, Bettendorf, IA. Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will take place at 10:00 on June 3rd at St. Paul�s Episcopal Church in Holyoke with a visitation at 9:00. Burial will follow at Forestdale Cemetery. Eleanor was born in Holyoke to Elizabeth (Brough) and Daniel McDonald. She graduated from Holyoke High School in 1946. Before her retirement, Eleanor was the assistant manager of Schatz Stationary at the Holyoke Mall. She relocated to Bettendorf, Iowa in 2005. Eleanor was a communicant of St. Paul�s Episcopal Church and a Sunday School Teacher for 23 years. She was a Girl Scout leader for 14 years, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star (Robert Morris Chapter #51) and the Women�s group at St. Paul�s Church. She was the past-president for the Daughter�s of Caledonia, past-president and secretary of Barracks Auxiliary #366, W.W. I. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary � American Legion #325 and Clan Donald. In her later years, she was a member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Davenport, Iowa. She leaves a daughter Barbara, son-in-law Bill and two granddaughters, Katie and Becky Hixon of Davenport, Iowa and a son William (Billy) Hyde and longtime partner Amanda Rabbitt of Belchertown, MA. She was predeceased by her loving husband William (Bill) Hyde of 52 years in 2002, and her sister, Elizabeth (McDonald) LaFleur of Hartsville, S.C. in 1998.
